We were very saddened by the death of Steve Rigby, British Titanic Society member and a former Honorary Secretary. On behalf of the society and its members we send our condolences to Steve’s family and friends.
For many years Steve Rigby served the society, and the Titanic community worldwide. He was among the few that have dived to the wreck of Titanic, and regularly lectured on his dive and other Titanic matters. His dedication and enthusiasm for Titanic was inspiration to all who met him.
He is going to be greatly missed by all those interested in Titanic, and we are saddened by his loss.
Nigel Wright and Tim Silcocks attended Steve’s funeral along with others who knew him through their shared interest in Titanic.
A Press Release was released by the British Titanic Society.

I’ve only just heard, I am so sorry for Steves’ family, ive only just heard that Steve passed away! My thoughts are with his family….I have been out of touch with the British Titanic Society after my illness, and the passing of my dad too…..I am at a loss, Steve was the reason I joined the society a long time ago, when he was in Bradford a while ago, he inspired me so much over Titanic, that was it, I was in awe over it, I’ve been hooked ever since! I will never ever forget you Steve, you were my hero in Bradford that day, and you still are! I have a superb photo of you and I, Steve my hero! I’m so sad at this news. I will resend my monies to the society soon, to renew my membership.
Thank you.
